What do you mean distorted? Have you tried restarting your computer after setting to 120Hz? Is your drivers up to latest?

I mean it looks like also lute crap and yes and yet again yes it is I checked the driver is fully up to date the only time I got it to look remotely any good was when I went and made the res the very smallest it would go but I should be about to with the monitor use the 120 hz at the native 1080 1920 but it won't let me without exstreamly unreadable text. So could it be that the dvi cable won't Handel it or is it something completely different it is really a challenging thing I have never seen any thing like this befor with changing he hertz on a monitor befor so any help would be greatly apresheted.

Does it do it on every monitor or just the Alienware? Also, if you're a native english speaker could you please fix the gross spelling errors you have to make this easier to read? If not then I understand. Plus, the resolution is 1920x1080, not 1080x1920.

I only have the Alienware that will do 120hz and its my iPad it spells everything that might be right but gives it the wrong meaning of the word normally. Anywhoo it looks fine as long as I don't go under 60 or over 60 hz so this is why I said I am puzzled on this one. I do this stuff all the time I even had my own bissness and I have never seen this befor. So with my 13 years of fixing and modding I have no idea what could cause this. I have tried several different things turning the over drive off from the monitor and also having the over drive turned off in the Amd home control panel for the grafics card. So I don't now what to do this is why I am asking and telling you guys everything I have done and what I have for the hardware.

For 120 Hz @1920x1080 only supported by DVI Dual Link and DP. Try different cable then check in Catalyst if it reports 60Hz or 120Hz. If there is a driver EDID update for the monitor, try that. Sorry can't browse the hardware specs on a portable right now.

I had this same problem on my old TV monitor which ran at 30Hz running 1920X1080.

The way that i fixed it was to run the monitor at 30Hz interlaced. So you might want to give 120Hz interlaced a try if that option is available to you.

Interlaced is awful quality. It's essentially half the resolution you set it to so 1920x1080 interlaced is 960x540 progressive.
