This chip scales with load applied so loaded at stock clock is actually not 3.5 its 4.1 or whatever that was..Im still trying to get used to that...kinda neat ..so i spent most of the day trying to get my offset voltage just right.. when this chip revs up so does voltage and if your offset whether negative or positive is set wrong ,,blue screens from under volt or wicked high temps from overvolt... i can set volts manually but what fun is that ..smile.gif i had it so far at 1.28 4.7 but not stable and i dont like anything over 1.3 so im kinda settling for 4.5 with an negative voltage offset of .010v that equals idle around 1v and loaded 1.202v... Offset affects both load and idle..

I think the feature is called turbo mode..is why it scales like that..not sure. Im still learning;)

How is it determining the scaling factor? Linear? Exponential? etc? It seems this could be a potential major flaw in this feature as the chip's voltage requirement is related to clock frequency by a to-be-determined equation. If the scaling factor is off, you could be in a situation where, although your clock is stable at max load, it could become unstable at lower frequencies; or have excessive voltage at every frequency below max.
I dont really know anything about this feature, sounds intriguing for sure.

Google ..turbo boost. Or CPU frequency scaling..

Linearly; that second bit is sort of ambiguous though...

"As frequency changes, the dynamic power will change linearly with it. Dynamic power does not account for the total power of the chip however, as there is also static power, which is primarily due to various leakage currents."

Same thing I read ...remember I have not owned Intel for 12 yrs so I was alittle confused at first.. took me awhile to wrap my head around it. Had a lot of blu screens today

Next is block for Gpu, 240 Monsta Rad , 2 38mm koolance fans to drive it, 3 Bgears 140mm fans for existing 420, 2 Bitfenix green led strips. Some extensions for I/o leads,,some other odd and ends. Maybe some inlet and outlet temp sensors for rads.

You should do inlet and outlet for your processor/gfx card. You know what wattage they output, and the temperature of the chip, you could calculate the thermodynamic efficiency of your blocks biggrin.gif
