Hey All,
Just wanted to put this out there for people thinking of doing an AG removal on their monitor. I followed instructions on multiple forums to a T...AG came off smooth as silk....reassembled without much difficulty....but when I plugged the monitor back in and the screen started up the polarizer was cracked beyond repair. We all know how fragile they are but let me stress THEY ARE MUCH MUCH MORE FRAGILE THAN YOU MAY THINK. I'm thinking it cracked just from the pressure of having it up on its side...or possible just from the gentle force used to snap the bezel down...idk because aside from that i didnt even touch it.
This mod is def possible as we have seen, but there is a great possibility of failure even for someone who considers themselves very capable.
Just be careful, and be prepared to throw 250 down the drain (or more depending on your model).
Im very bummed because it was new but also knew the risk and know it was my own damn fault.
sucks to be me
