Halo 2 definitely left the door open for Halo 3, which pissed off quite a few people (I remember finishing the game and thinking "seriously?"). Halo Reach was their last game, and IMO was just as good as Halo 1. I was never particularly fond of Halo 3 or ODST.
Gotta admit though, Halo 4 does look good.
