P8Z77-V and Corsair Vengeance 16GB (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B) issue

Hi,
The problem is that I can pass 12h of Custom Blend test with 90% RAM in Prime95 only when my RAM is set to 1066MHz with all 4 sticks. When I set it to XMP/1600/1333 prime fails (usually after 2-4 hours). IBT and Prime95 small FFTs pass without any issues. When I put just one stick it was stable at 1333 ( I haven't checked on 1600 yet). This is what I tried so far:

1. Increased DRAM voltage to 1.65
2. Increased VCCSA to 0.975
3. 1333MHz and other setttings at auto
4. 1600 MHz and other settings at auto
5. XMP profile

All above failed

Yesterday I borrowed some Kingston 1333MHz 8GB set (4x2GB) from my friend and I was able to pass 12h custom blend test...

So I'm a bit confused and I don't know if it's a memory or motherboard issue. I don't get any BSODs or any other crashes, just an error in custom blend test.

Any ideas?

I recall my P8Z77-V LX manual (page 2-5) stating to use the A2-B2 slots (blue) for better stability when overclocking. Try that out (just 2 sticks intitially) and see how that goes. If that does not work, I'd then run MEMTEST to make sure your Corsair memory is working properly. If they don't pass MEMTEST then I'd recommend the SAMSUNG Ultra's.

At first I tried each stick at 1333MHz and when first 2 of them passed 12h of custom blend individually I put them together (in blue slots) and got a prime95 error after 2 hours...

I'll try putting them all together with XMP again and increase VCCSA to 1.1v. Maybe this will help. This should still be safe right?

I am really new to Intel CPU's so I'd suggest that you give this thread a look over. Lots and lots of P8Z77 information there.

Another idea would be to make sure you have the latest BIOS for that MOBO. As for the voltage, I am still unfamiliar with voltages so I'd look through and maybe even ask your question within that particular thread. Don't want to give you the wrong info. Voltages are named way differently in the Intel world in comparison to the AMD world I just came from.

Sorry I couldn't help any further. Hope I am pointing you in the right direction though.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I think I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. Finally I replaced my sticks and that did the trick:)
