I think Techpower up have a Ghz bios in there bios section, but it may be different from this one?

Oh thanks, but being the idiot I am, I should have just thought of saving the bios which successfully flashed and use to force on 2nd. Was on my lunch break though.

Luckly I have a bios switch (not sure if every 7970 has it).

Impossible to brick a HD 7970 they have dual bios. Are you using a non reference card? Plz list what model your card is it may be helpful for others.

So far I have flashed,

Powercolor HD 7970 (Reference)
HIS HD 7970 (Non reference Blue PCB)

Both worked fine 100% stable at new speeds / lower volts.

Hey, care to teach this (points at self) ignorant fool how to restore a corrupted BIOS?

Boot to your failsafe, bios # 2, run gpuz click on the bios chip button next to bios version and save it. Now flash that saved bios to your goobered one. Switch the bios to #1 (do not reboot), flash.

Like to hear how goes it. Interesting if you can get way more out of your memory too.

It's worthless. It forces voltage to 1093mv regardless of asic. Unless you have some crazy high asic cards, it will drop your voltage.

I think I was the only one that got lucky buying 2 cards. 1 is asic 85.6% and 2nd is 86.1%. Mine are almost exactly the same and both are stock voltage of 1.049v. Does that make a difference to what you said now?

Yea, bios is good for your asic. Gives you another 45mv ish to start with.
