Is your voltage unlocked as well? I might have to sticky my BIOS in the AMD section, lol.

If it works for a lot of people, you should definitely get it out there. I know that there are a lot of people who can't get these bios to work for them, you could be the key.

Okay, so I've been doing my homework with this GHz Edition BIOS, but there are still a few questions.

It seems that the nominal voltage is 1.093V regardless of ASIC quality, right? When boosting, that seems to go up to 1.12-1.15V real voltage for most people. The big question: is this boost voltage dependent on the ASIC quality or not? Is the ASIC quality totally disregarded with the GE BIOS?

The other remaining question: what is the GE BIOS fan profile like? More aggressive, I know, but how much? Does anyone have numerical data on this?

No unlocked voltage

General oddness with this 7970 (or does it happen with others?) normal BIOS, when ocing with TRIXX or AB i could change the voltage but after reboot/wake etc the voltage wouldnt be applied along with clocks (+ abit of flicker as the clocks changed when browsing/photoshop etc) So I thought good reasoning behind trying the GHz BIOS, no more 3rd party stuff and stick to CCC, but now i get loads of flickering with OC - doh

Note: Does the 7900 have alt states? Just notice using 'stock' clocks there's idle (300/150@0.850) then (501/1500@0.950) and 3D (1050/1500@1.13) but as soon as you alter the clocks its idle or 3D

If you got the voltage to work, then just use MSI AB using the xcl method, and set profiles for stock and overclocked, and set stock to 2D and overclocked to 3D. This will force 100% your stock profile to desktop / idle, and when you open up a game it'll jump to overclocked instead of stock 3D clocks.

omg! i didnt know (or see) the auto profiles, I've flashed back and did what you said, good bye annoying 2D flicker and driver not responding as I forgot to re-apply the voltage thumb.gif
