I get the same error btw, and the only way I can flash is by forcing it in the command line "atiflash -f -p 0 biox.rom". My switch is on 1.

Use this command to force flash the bios:

atiflash -f -p 0 bios.rom

For 2nd card of CF, replace the 0 with 1.

stock switch = 1

Can't flash otherwise. I did flash and it works fine. My only concern is that I now get higher voltages. Before it would be ~1175 and now its ~1236 under load. Seems high to me, plus I'm still with reference cooling until I get my gelid cooler....

Yeah! the original exe download corrupted my Bios 1, but after trail and error I figured out how to flash my backup bios 1 back using ATIwinflash from the CMD prompt. Then after a few more goes loaded the Bios from Pioneer - cheers!! Seems like my card sometimes needed a few consecutive flashes - so a failed ROM error write, then try again and success and verified for both reinstalling original bios and the new GHZ bios. I just bought a cheap, but new Zalman 7970H reference card - made my HIS I thnk. Unfortunately the card has a mid 60s ASIC and so defaults to 1.175 stock and 1.200 GHZ. But intial results suggest I should be able to undervolt it. Otherwise I am going to need a aftermarket cooler. smile.gif
