I currently have the XFX 7970 DD black edition clocked at 1000/1500, would it be worth me flashing BIOS?

You need to manually flash through command prompt. I had to do this with my HIS card.

What does you do it windows and then re boot mean?
Never flashed a BIOS before and am very interested in testing this on my Diamond ref thumb.gif

im not sure how the whole +125mv overvolt limit works. it doesnt explain why my 1050mv card could be pushed to 1200MHz with 1220mv......
Im at 1093mv stock with this bios now though, haven't tried to see if i can get any better.

The +.125v over stock is under load, not what your setting in AB or Trixx. Your 1.220v is before load, probably about 1.16-1.17v under load conditions. You will need +20% power tune to reach that also. I was curious if that would now let us start setting 1.250v or more.
