Oh and it's not like modern PS3 games are THAT great. There are a lot of tricks going on. Resolution is still low, there is no AA, textures are mediocre, etc. They do look really great though if you consider how old the hardware is.
They are trying to find a good balance for price/performance. The graphical difference between medium to high end isn't going to be that big of a difference to the average person and increase the cost of the console to the point where it won't be worth it.

Already saw thse specs posted somewhere, just another rumor, sounds fake...

I call bull, and won't trust any of these next gen "leaks",only an official word from console makers themselves counts...

DX”11.5″??, what the hell is that?, hilarious lachen.gif

I'm skeptical too. Microsoft won't allow the PlayStation any form of DirectX.

This does no look promising if there is any truth to these specs.

They say 10x faster than ps3...that is not alot when you consider more than doubling the resolution from 720p (ps3) to 1080p (ps4), and adding tesselation and/or AA/AF. That is assuming ps4 console games will run @ 1080p and use tesselation and AA/AF.

After all that you have maybe a tiny amount of room to increase graphical fidelity.

Please tell me there is no-one that believes this? DX !!!!!!!

If they're using Steamroller cores for the CPU then I would presume they would use a Sea Islands chip instead of Tahiti. The latter would would be around two years old by the time this comes out.

I would be happy enough with those specs, although I would not buy into this article.

Clear and sensible. Wow! Am I on the internet? +1

To all the people who said I was an idiot for predicting a 4 core AMD or IBM CPU, 2-4Gigs of GDDR5 and an underclocked Pitcairn chip I'd just like to stand up and take a bow now.
