Need new xbox 360 headset (turtle beach dx12 vs dxl1 vs x41)

It seems like these: turtle beach dx12 vs dxl1 vs x41 are the best to choose from when it comes to simple gaming headsets for the 360 for under $150. I would prefer wireless as I don't want to be connected to the xbox, but I am trying to be open. As far as I can tell the 41's are wireless and the other two just use different headphones, but I'm not sure what all the differences are. Anyways, do any of you have any suggestions? Despite all my research, I'm kind of lost. Thanks a bunch.

Also, I wanted to ask about the sensitivity of the mic. I ask because I have had the x1 and x11 and they are both way too sensitive, with the x11 being way worse. People can literally hear a train whistle go by with my windows closed, and I'm not particularly close to a train.

As somebody with X11s, I don't find it particularly sensitive. Rather loud noises make it through, but other than that no real issue. Do you still have the foam head on the mic? That is used for reducing background noise being picked up. I would imagine most headsets will be about that sensitive.

As for your options:

The DX12 is just the X12, combo'd with the DSS. The DSS is used to turn analog stereo headsets into "Dolby Surround Sound" headsets. Basically just means the audio will be a little better if you go the optical route (has an input for it on the DSS) and you should be able to pinpoint sounds around you easier. Personally, I haven't had any trouble pinpointing sounds with my X11s, so I think the DSS is excessive.

The DXL1 is just TB's lowest end headset paired with the DSS.

The X42 basically has the DSS' functionality built in, and used to be the top of the line they had to offer. Now they have the XP series, which is far more customizable. Out of all of their headsets, I would say these are the most worth it for performance/cost.

I have had the x1, x11, x12, and x41 and I think the best so far is the x41, wireless, great sound quality, bass boost, removable mic, and the transmitter can have an analog headset such as the x11 plug into it and a friend can listen. I would highly recommend the x41's

Everyone I know who's tried a wireless TB headset has had issues. I've never used one myself, but most people complain about a soft static that's always present, and occasionally crackling. They seem to pick up interference, some people think its from the wireless xbox controllers.

I've never used one myself so take this with a grain of salt, but the interference issues have been pretty consistent. It might not bother you though, its really only an issue during like really quiet scenes.

I only have that problem when I go far away from my transmitter, as in downstairs to the kitchen, and even downstairs, under my room, i get perfect connection. I even go downstairs and get a snack and talk to them, ive never had a problem with them though. Maybe i got lucky. I do GameBattles so there is quite a bit of "quiet scenes" haha. and it is important to hear everything around you. I dont sit far away from xbox or tv so maybe that is why i dont get interference, imnot sure, i havent had any issues, except that they run on batteries but i just bought some rechargable batteries.

I have had my X41's for two years now. So far, flawless! There is a small amount of noise with both volume and chat all the way down. The only time I notice the noise is when I'm actually trying to hear it. I never hear it playing a game. I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again. I started with the X31's and the sound had no depth. I returned them for the X41's and have been happy since. My friend has the x11's and the mic sensitivity is ridiculous. His mic is behind his head and he is still too loud.
