Just a mild fuss....because I originally fell in love with the idea of being able to run 4 video cards utilizing 16 lanes apiece. Because of my raid card....it's not going to happen.

The battery back up is nice for all the time you hard lock overclocking, but still you don't want your 1K card being mucked around and rebooting like that, will really slow you down with the rebuilds lol. So get a 2nd box for you server/nas? I've got 20 drives stuffed into a Lian Li for that job.

*Also, the waiting for the Areca to initialize... I would pull my hair out waiting thru that on my desktop lol.

Yes. Not that familiar with SLI, however, in CrossFire the bridge is only a modified DVI interface actually and runs out of bandwidth at 2560x1600 and 60Hz so anything more than that is moved through the PCIe interface. Dont have any tests though at hand to show that PCIe 3.0 vs 2.0 actually matters at Eyefinity/Surround resolutions as its entirely possible that even PCIe 2.0 is still perfectly adequate for the increased bandwidth and FPS differences are caused by something else than the bandwidth of the link.

brace yourself for bad news

True, we also worry about that....

I knew first batch is by air express, should cost up a lot... Orz.
Except, I am thinking it could around 700 AUD if sea shipment
arrived at end of Aug.

Yours, Nick Lee

Hi Nick,

Actually I just want to know how much for this motherboard?

The rumour has it that it will be $1,000. No one will buy it – that’s for sure.

Thanks,

Danny

Stupid question...couldn't you just disable the LSI chip in BIOS and just use the raid card exclusively?

Yea, magic!

What's more comical is you don't even realize those are equivalent to pcie 2/0 x16 speed. LOL.

Psst, I got an Areca 12 porter in my server, but it's a server! Doh.

My $500 LSI card does raid 6 just fine *shrug*

Unless you're using all 24 ports at the same time, x8 has plenty of bandwidth, and even then spinning drives aren't gonna actually take up the full 6gb/s per port.
