Nice. What blade are you using?I have some bosch progressor series that cut anything (including aluminum) but it isn't that good for thin metal sheets,so I use a saw smile.gif

That is the GPU side and will pretty much just show the GPU block (not much else that can be shown on that side since the GPU blocks everything,) so I thought I would do as close to a full window on the other side as possible...

How would you handle it? I don't really want the window t show under the mobo tray...should I do something like a lazy L, or 2 different windows one similar to the GPU window and then one for the area in front of the mobo tray area?
I'm just doing a right side window lol. so I think it will look good.
and yeah I would do the two similar windows.

If the window mod is uneven, you can add rubber u-channels to fill in the distance. Otherwise it looks like a great clean cut! I wouldn't show anything else in that side since the GPU is the main attraction.

John..I'm using progressor blades too...I use the fine tooth metal blades because they also work really well on acrylic too! thumb.gif

Thanks phillyd! I'll have more on the window mounting in a coming update...

Kokin, Thanks! biggrin.gif As far as the windows being straight, it was whether to make the windows the same on both sides of the case. I'm going for a really clean look on the window, so there won't be any visible screws, tape, etc around the windows...

hey there. very interesting build! what thickness is that acrylic that you used on the side panel? i bought a 2mm thick piece and i'm a bit worried. haven't tried cutting anything just yet.

i was thinking of making a sidewindow with no outside screws visible, just like yours, but i'd also like to skip on the rubber u-channels. i was thinking of using double sided sticky tape? if you have any tips on cutting and installing the acrylic i would very much appreciate them. i'm especially interested in the cutting technique and hardware used and on the actual fixing of the acrylic in place on the metal side panel.

You could do it that way..what I did was use 1/8" material so it had just enough flex to get inside of the u channel at the top and bottom of the door. I will be putting my screws through that so they are hidden.

I've been using the Kingston SSDs for about a year now (haven't used this particular model) and they have always been exceptionally stable for me...none of the Corsair or Ocz issues

Update time!

I decided I wanted to use some acrylic on the front and top of the mobo tray...

Only after I got to this point did I realize...I bent the wrong side out! Instead of the gloss, I wanted the matte to the outside! doh.gif

So, back to the drawing board...I'll have to make another one...

Funny part is..the curve turned out so nice that now I'm looking for a place I can use it in some other projects I've got going on...biggrin.gif So all is good, I'll just have to make another one. In the meantime I'm almost ready to start on the front panel and the rear fan port...

Coming soon...
