Doing some tweaks to my HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ 79X0 Ni-Bl water block.

1. Replaced stock thermal pads with fujipoly extreme thermal pads on RAM and VRMs.
2. Switching from IC Diamond 24 to Coollaboratory Liquid Pro.

Will be a few more days till I get my loop to share temps.

Here are photos of what I have done so far.

Drop of Liquid Pro that covered both the DIE and surface of block. Fujipoly extreme on memory is .5mm thick.

Coollaboratory Liquid Pro on Sapphire HD7950 950mhz edition DIE.

Coollaboratory Liquid Pro on HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ 79X0 Nickel Plated die contact area.

Fujipoly Extreme on VRM #1 1mm thickness on VRMS

VRM#2 1mm thickness.

Correct. If you're a bargain hunter like me, you can get a 2-pack on eBay for under $1.

I think you'd be alright with 0.8mm but I'm using 0.5mm which is just enough. I got the measurement from EK which sells a single shim for $3.99+shipping.

i better get 0.5mm
i dont know if more its better about copper shim's
i think heat disipation its better when its less copper between MCW60 and GPU

200x200 mm by 0.5mm its far enough right?
do you have any pic of what your using right now?

Didn't understand your question. Sorry.

I think the shim will work but not sure about how well. Good luck. Looking forward to how it fits and works. cool.gif

Copper is Copper but you are right about less yielding better results.

20mm x 20mm is about the size of the die, so it will cover it perfectly. The one advantage with the EK shim is that it fits the entire shape meaning it won't shift as you place the block over it. All you have to do is be very gentle, don't move it about, and it should stay put. I've done it to two 7950's so far (no pics unfortunately).
