If you are using the 950mhz edition BIOS that my card runs you can run Trixx instead of MSI AB.
SAPPER.zip 41k .zip file
Not sure if that is a possible solution for you.

Thats the bios that I've been using for quite a while now, works great for me.

I have played around with a 7970 bios for a bit. It seemed to work fine on my card for the time that I tried it out. I'm surprised that your card didn't have any display. Did you flash through dos? I had some issues with atiwinflash in general.

I was just wondering if there were any possible long term issues.

I did it in DOS. Used ATIflash. Able flash other HD7950 BIOS but not any HD7970 yet.

I bought HD 7950 TF3, but sadly its DOA, lines all over the screen, even in bios, going to RMA.

Few pictures of my Vapor-X cards, has 2x8-pin connectors on them.
Not sure what to make of it really, maybe I should try some flashing?

Which color pcb is better?
The vapor x seems to be a custom pcb.

I would stick with a 7970 pcb personally.

Regarding your blank display after flashing your 7950 with a 7970 BIOS...are you by any chance using HDMI? That port will go dead after you do the flash.
I flashed my Gigabyte 7950 with a 7970 OC bios and the card works great, except I had to pick up an active display port to DVI adapter to use instead of the HDMI since the reflash shut that port down as a side-effect.
I'd settle for using MSI AB, but I'm not able to tweak the voltage on my card, so flashing it took care of that.

Not using hdmi. Thanks for helping.

When you flashed to HD7970 did you unlock the shaders as well?

I thought the 7970 wasn't worth it? I can buck up 75$ if it really is
