When you flashed to HD7970 did you unlock the shaders as well?

Nope - shaders stayed the same. I don't believe there's any way to unlock them...they are permanently disabled (or maybe not present in the first place on the 7950's chip?)

I don't know if you have the same card I do (Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD) but either way I can send you the .ROM file I used to flash it if you want to see how it works for you...?

I have tried many BIOS and this bios works the best for me. I will try your bios to see if I can go to HD7970 BIOS for bettter performance but I doubt it. Right now my card games fine at 1325/1800 @ 1.25v

Are the gigabyte 7950s shipping with the 7970 pcb? I have one on its way in the mail, so I guess I'll be able to confirm around Monday.

Hook me up with that bios! biggrin.gif

If you could upload it here and hopefully to techpowerup I know that I would appreciate it. biggrin.gif

What is the official overclocking limit in CCC on that card?

Can i use this bios on my Gigabyte HD7950 Windforce card?
i'm using f3 and the vddc is 1.250bios. My vrm temps are too high, max 96º with 1100/1500 on Farcry 3, and 77º in BF3 with 64 players, otherwise, Vga temps is max 69º.

The f3 bios is really a bad bios?
Will be better use this sapphire bios?

You could use it on your card but its made for a card with a different pcb. AFAIK the windforce uses a reference 7950 pcb. I would use a bios made for a reference 7950.

Here's the one I used - sets it to 1000Mhz / 1375MHz / 1.17V

Thanks. I will try it out. Also if you could please post your original BIOS. That way I will first flash to your original HD7950 card then go to the HD7970 card. I think this flow will be more kosher to get the closest effect to what you have.
