HD7950 revised with reference HD7970 PCB club - Page 58

That HIS card looks like it has an an 8 + 6 power connector from the picture on newegg.

I don't think any 7950's have 8 + 8.

TechPowerUp Review clearly shows 8+8 power connectors in their review.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/HD_7950_X2_Boost/3.html

Also some models of the Sapphire Vapor X HD7950 Boody has 8+8 power connectors as well but it isn't built on reference HD7970 PCB.

HIS may have different versions as well.... not sure.

Huh, that's weird.

If there are different versions of the card out, it may be a crapshoot as to which PCB design you get.

Yes.

To avoid water cooling problems order the card first and see what you get and test it out and then order the block.

If your card has HYNIX memory it may be compatible with my BIOS. GOOD luck.

I think this is the command to keep original VBIOS memory alone during flash to new BIOS. -excl_memtrain_dtable

Going to try to flash my Elpida based VApor X HD7950 with my HYNIX based Sapper BIOS and exclude the memory from the flash to see if it unlocks my Vapor X HD7950 voltage and improves over clocking.

67% isn't that bad.

My 57% Sapphire VApor X HD7950 BOOST Edition with locked voltage at 1.25v under load bothers me alot. I wanted to keep it but I just can't bear to keep such a low quality GPU.

I think I could get by with 67% as long as I could use voltage control for over clocking.

Not liking his 7970. It is unlocked but the performance is terrible, ordered me a 7970ghz edition sapphire vapor-x lol, will see how that goes. Really want to get rid of both of my 7950's.

Try my sapper BIOS on it before you give up. It may help out alot.
