Whats wrong with it? It beats most if not all 7950 coolers on the market right now. doesn't even pass 62 degrees in gaming, and its dead silent. I bought a FC7950 backplate to go with it to. It looks gorgeous.

I just think it looks ugly, but I guess everyone has different tastes I love the looks of passive coolers, stock coolers and waterblocks, I am fully aware that it's one of the best factory coolers out there for that cards but I would only get it If my computer didn't have a window.

I have no idea how HIS did it really. The aluminium heatsink isn't as big as others, and it has a single, small blower style fan. Yet its still the quietest and has the lowest temps of them all (As seen on Newegg's YT channel and T.H 6 7950 review, in which it even beat the 3 slot dual 100mm fan asus card)

mod7950.zip 41k .zip file Well here is the MSI twin Frozr III bios i modded raised core clock to 1050 and memory to 1500 also raised limits for core to 1450 and memory to 1950... Only for users with hynix ram since default voltage is 1.60v ... When flashing if you have a msi twin frozr 6+8 pin card you do not need to force flash anymore with -f it will work fine since checksum has been modded as well to a stock bios enjoy.

managed to get the flash working on my twin frozr iii.

What bios are people using for the msi twin frozr iii 7950?

my device id is 1002 - 679a. the only driver available for that is the his 7970 bios however i have read above that is not a true 7970 bio., when i tried to flash with the HIS bios the shaders were not unlocked. (Still remains at 1792)

can a 1002 - 6798 hd7970 bios be flashed instead?

Flashing with a regular or any 7970 bios for that matter would still come up as 1002-679a even though you can flash 7970 bios, i have many times and shaders do not unlock, most likely that the chips are laser cut or a hardware mod such as a chip that hinders the extra shaders useless. Only clocks such as core and memory and limits for core and memory and load voltage work when flashing. Things to consider when flashing is what type of ram chips are on your 7950? Only Hynix ram is used as far as i know for 7970's which clock higher and have a higher default voltage. What card do you have? 6+6 pin power or 6+8pin power. Boost or non boost card?
