[MP1st] Battlefield 4 Confirmed - Page 39

post #381 of 400
One of my favourite fps games other than cs, is now turning into a cod.

Screw people. Honestly what is the world coming to? so much greed, I remember when DICE use to make games for people to play and have fun not score lots of money like what Activision does.

I feel that they couldn't make major engine changes due to the 360 / PS3 version being so prominent so they went with the next iteration route to fix everything. It's cheaper in the long run when it comes to consoles. You may say but TF2 did this and that but TF2 has a bigger audience on PC than consoles and it's Valve.

pre-order the crappy call of duty clone you'll never play, and get early access before the battlefield 4 open beta!

That's what cod is and cod is still dominating the market as much as people don't like it.

Everything is about money and every idea will be prioritised if it gains money.

Amnesia can be modded, it's made by a company far smaller than DICE and EA. Call of duty 4 and W@W have mod tools and their map packs are free too, they come with the patches (PC version only). Look at Skyrim, too. that can be modded to hell and back. But oh no, DICE would financially struggle if they made mod tools for it.

Alot of companies are killing of mod support, as it competes with their dlc sales. DICE is not the only company to do this, before people scream consolization look at CA the makers of total war. Total War is a PC exclusive franchise but ever since Empire there has been no mod support for their games, also since Empire they have started to release DLC units and campaigns, coincidence anyone? Did you see the responses to the dawnguard thread on here? People crying im not gonna buy this, mods have better content. I think thats proof of mods impacting dlc sales.

I really dont get the complaints on here people do not want a bf 4 so soon but they dont want dlc either, they want the shipped game with no new content what so ever to be played forever. Mod tools are actually a thing of the past, I like mods but a game not having mods is not a non purchase for me.

knwing EA, they wont releas it now because of how well the main franchise is going. They are like activision, people deny it but they are. look at premium. BFBC2 dlc was free for limited edition people which was the same price as the non limited edition. Why? because they were a god company.

IT makes me sad that these companies are using games to achieve greed. Why not make games for the fun like they used to?

Bohemia would like to have a word with you,seeing as they like mods and are over the moon that ARMA II has topped the steam sales charts for 3 MONTHS,and they have not had to do a thing! All because of 1 mod,lol(not bad for a 3 year old game)

DLC=Short term gain
MODS=Longevity,steady trickle of money coming in for years

The trouble is that publishers these days only want money NOW,they do not care about a steady stream of cash(Pretty much how most of society has gone these days).

BC3 had one round of free dlc that had 4 maps and thats it, no new weapons no new vehicles.
