I personally don't test. If it bsods I just deal with it and bump the vcore by 0.005.

Prime is alright overall system test for say 12 hours.. But it's kind of useless.
I just prime 95'd today, for 6 hours. It took me 3 hours to test if my system was unstable yesterday.. Where IBT took about 15 minutes or less. I usually prime 95 the system once i'm happy with my overclock. I always do it at stock to make sure everything is working fine too! biggrin.gif

That's pretty much what i do thesedays, And if it "looks" unstable and you can generaly tell because it'll do funky things, I'll bump it another 0.005

Pretty much, like before desktop gadgets were crashing and such.. Oh well I've got to tweak the ram more in my system, I'll do an IBT later tonight and watch some more scrubs! biggrin.gif

Ok guys, my voltage is at 1.17v and I have it set to AUTO in the BIOS... The options I have are [AUTO:+0.02:+0.04:+0.06:+0.08:+0.1:+0.12:+0.14:+0.16] and I don't understand them very much... Now, I have had this OC for about a week now and it has been stable in all I've done, playing MW3, LoL, Mirrors Edge, MW2, Crysis, Dota2, Black Ops, etc... What should I do about my voltage setting? I was told that I could do that OC without even modifying my original stock voltages, which would be something like 1.06... What should I do? Also, what do I do to test stability (because I read some discissions you had about Prime95 not being good, etc...)

THANKS!

I would manually set the voltage, if its stable at 1.17 on auto- manually set it to 1.17. From there you can see if you can work it down some. the 212+ should help your temps for sure though, 80C is pretty warm. itll never really get that hot during regular use, but I still prefer my stress testing max to be lower than that.

As for stress testing- run p95 for a while, a few hours at least. I would say get Intelburntest because its a bit faster to use than p95, but it also brings higher temps and you are already pretty high.
