2500k OC tips/help please

CPU: i5 2500k
MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB@1866mhz
PSU: Corsair GS800w
GPU: a 5770 :'(
CPU cooler: Corsair h80

So I disabled:

Limit CPUID Maximum
C1E Support
Spread Spectrum

&

Enabled:
Internal PLL Overvoltage
Execute Disable Bit
Intel Virtualization technology

Then I started by changing the multiplier :34, re-booted; 35, re-booter etc..

Then I got to 3.8 and the my PC blue screened.

P.S. all the voltages were set to auto.

So atm I'm still running the 3.3Ghz.

Why is it running at 1.6 ? is it because of the idle or sth?

If you want to overclock correctly you should not let the voltages on auto. Start out with the default voltage. And raise the multiplier step by step. And keep stress testing and checking your temperatures. Read on how to OC a 2500K because I bet there are guides out there. Im no top OCer myself and certainly not with Intel so this got to do from my part. Hope there are more people to help you!

You can use the spreadsheet as a reference as to what kind of voltages you'll need at certain clocks. My 2500k requires 1.368v @ 4.7GHZ, and 1.424v @ 4.8GHZ with the same board as yours smile.gif

The multiplier should be at 40 right now.

http://gyazo.com/6ad88c6003a52e30b12f90b7e3a92be0

But it's jumping around from 2,9 ghz to 3.9.... and this makes me feel like I totally screwed something up frown.gif

Should I turn off turbo at this stage? But I will not do anything until someone confirms my stupidity :/

Prime has been running for 20 minutes. http://gyazo.com/3f5f739e5e5ca70aed8852b09d33b5ae

I'm scared to go further.

@ a 4 Ghz clock with 90 degrees. That's really messed up.

without the prime running the temps are around 50 :/

*** is going on, I have a h80 which should easily get me to atleast 4,7 Ghz but noooooo :'(

H80 and at 90c with that mild OC? You must of installed the cooler wrong. Try reseating it, tightening it down, clear any obstructions from the fan blowing onto the radiator, etc...
