You are assuming when he says gaming rig that means all he will be doing is turning it on, starting steam, and gaming. Not the case for most people, it is just built with the intention of gaming primarily. So yes GAMES wont take up 16gb but doing a lot of other processes on the PC can eat that little 8gb up pretty quick. Hell right now I'm using a little over 9gb and I don't even have any games running. I multitask which makes the extra ram really helpful.

As for my monitor, it is this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236175

some people hate on it, but I love this thing. Not a 2560x or IPS but still is an amazing monitor. Haven't had any problems with it yet, and not a single dead pixel like some people claim. considering picking up a second one to run side by side.

Thanks for the replies. Either this week or next I will start slowly piecing it together little by little. My game plan is to buy the most expensive items first and gradually get cheaper.

It seems the game I am on standby to play will support 3D Vision Surround so I may have to consider doing SLI later on. Guild Wars 2. I just found this so this makes me even more excited for this game!

I would actually advise against this. Get your mobo, CPU, PSU, RAM first. Save the GPU till the end. This way you can at least get a barebones system up and running, do some stability tests, and get it how you want. Allows you to play with your new toy sooner too thumb.gif Look for combos or sales too. Don't be afraid to look into alternative components also because you can end up getting bigger and better parts if you are on the hunt for a good sale.

Also GW2 looks amazing, been playing the beta weekends for a minute now and it is going to be sooo good

Other than Newegg, what are some more good sites to check and order from. I have Amazon Prime but they are very hit and miss with more misses it seems with computer stuff. I checked some of the sites on these forums but they seem to be more modding and cooling focused. I didn't check every vendor though.

xRehab, will you be in the beta weekend this coming up weekend? I done the pre-purchase so I will get in on this one and hope to game like mad to find the toon I want to play and figure things out before the game launches.
