Thanks.

Would you or somebody else reading this know if these cables would be compatible with my Seasonic Platinum 860 PSU?

According to post #154 on this thread http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1667964&page=8 some of the cables are compatible but some are not.

However it would be possible to just swap the Seasonic plugs onto the Corsair cables.

Thanks. Going to keep an eye on the prices and if they do a sweet black friday deal I will bite. Right now they seem a little too much money for my budget to jump on them. Mine work fine as they are but the sleeved look is very nice.

He is right, I once saw in the seasonic platinum club that the platinum series have unusual cables, for example the purple wire (I can't remember which that represents), but it has some certain twist that you have to do to it, seasonic said something like "it is to help ensure stability on the rail".

Well, a general update for you guys I guess.  Been quite busy lately after getting my H100i, got way more views on those YouTube videos I posted than I ever expected. So, first things first:

The only major thing left to buy for this build is a GPU.  I have a line on a pair of Galaxy GTX670 GC 2GB  (one brand new, the other barely used), but I am gonna need to wait a few weeks to get the money together. These are some pretty sweet cards that OC well for the price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162107

I managed to move the H100i further away from my motherboard (it no longer touches it) by using the grille holes on the top of the case to mount it rather than the factory holes. Could only use 6 out of 8 screws though, I'll have to drill a bit if I want to use the last 2. No issues with it mounted like this so far. Reinstalled the fan rings that were binding with the previous mounting location.

I also spent a little time (ok probably more time than I needed torolleyes.gif) doing some cable management on the backside of the case. I know no one but you guys will ever see it, but it's the little things that make me happy. (Zipties ftw.)

700

Not perfect, but a whole lot better than it was.

Still need to do some painting eventually (Fan rings, DVD drive, etc), though for now the white fan rings don't look to terrible IMO.

I'm slowly getting more comfortable with the overclocking process on Intel. My 4.5GHz clock at 1.3v was still not stable and my temps were on the ragged edge of where I wanted to be. So I've dropped back down to 4.3GHz at 1.21v right now. Everything seems to be stable, and my max Prime95 temp is 75*C on that hot core. Might be able to take the vCore even lower if I want to try it.  I've seen quite a few people have such good results from delidding Ivy Bridge that down the road when I have to money to replace the chip (if I kill it), I might try it just to see how much my temps will drop... devil-smiley-019.gif

I know one of the main points of this build was the big side panel aircraft nose art decal. I'm still wanting to do that, though I may tweak the design some more. (Plus I may get Dwood to make me some GPU backplates that have "Maiden America" on them as well...) We'll see where that takes us.

Have a good weekend everyone!

It is completely normal to see a variance in temps, don't worry about it.
btw your build looks great! Keep going.

Awesome, thanks for that confirmation. I've never owned a cpu with more than 2 cores, so this is all new to me haha.

Thanks! biggrin.gif

Thanks beta! Yeah it's been running great in that location, especially after switching to a full set of 4 SP120s. The hose going that way just looks "cleaner" to me. Helps cover the cable mess with the drive bay too.

Just as a heads up, be sure to check all your connections on your H100i before booting up. I couldn't see that my rpm wire was sitting loose on the wrong header on my motherboard (it's behind the rad once it's installed) and I shorted my pump out. I smelled the smoke, and pulled the plug, so no damage done. Not a huge problem, as Corsair is making the RMA process painless. Should have a replacement unit by the end of next week hopefully. I've had nothing but good experience with Corsair so far. thumb.gif
