Can anyone recommend me a pair of good headphones that I can use for gaming (FPSes) and a clip-on microphone for TeamSpeak?
Maximum $80 headphones and $10 mic

Save your money and get the AD700s. It will be worth it in the long run.

1. Your assumption about the typo was correct.

I thought they were 400's when CLEARLY the 600's are so much better and ARE in fact what you linked to.
2. I do not know more than you about headphones. That's for darn sure.
3. I like the sound of the HD280's. I've used them for gaming and for live sound. I like them alot, so I recommended them to him.

I sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings.

Which pair is the best for gaming (hearing footsteps) and overall quality?
These are my options:
Samson SR850
Samson RH600
Grado SR-60i
Superlux HD668B
Razer Carcharias
Not the Razer (rebranded cheap parts)
Not the Grados (non existant soundstage)

Probably the Samson RH600s, because they have an open back. Open headphones generally have better sound positioning.

I support this idea... I picked up a pair of them about a month ago... love them! looks to be apx $75 used/refurb on amazon.. save the lunch coin for a month and spring for these, and I think you would be a happy camper.

RX700 is a 30 dollar headphone that's a good entry level headphone for many genres of music, but with an 80 dollar budget you can get better. The RH600 is much better and more detailed for gaming. It will severely lack bass compared to the RX700s though.

The RH600s are 50 dollar headphones. 30 under your budget. If you can dish out an extra 10-15 dollars you're in AD700s territory and that's also an excellent pick, but again that's almost doubling the price of the RH600s.

I don't think so...
