WHAT?

what the hell.....how....I mean why?

you are free to screw up all other franchises EA I dont give a flying duck about it but simcity? really?

a game that could be entirely single player? a game that could "play itself" if you leave it idle for 30 mins?

honestly i thought that was one of the pros that other games dont have, you turn on the game, build some stuff then leave it running for a while, the city wont die.

but always on DRM? that obviously means forced multiplayer features? they will be trying to keep you on your toes with a game like sim city?

come on man......whatever you want....but not sim city.....

they accepted it because its diablo franchise and they wanted to play

they SUCKED IT UP

who said they accepted, as in welcomed the DRM?

I'm disappointed, too. They've taken a SP franchise and screwed it up.

*shrug*

the only thing I can do is not purchase it, which sucks, because I was really looking forward to the new ways that they devised to micro/macro manage a city.

Spore started it, if you look at their "MP" features.

This hate for Origin may seem somewhat unfounded, but I think a lot of it came from the fact that their original EULA allowed them to to some incredibly invasive stuff. Their service was also very broken initially, at least for me, and first impressions are very hard to change.

I think people are focusing on Origin, which isn't really that bad; people should be angry at the other ton of stupid things EA has done.

man....I wish i had the same amount of determination......

unfortunately I'm in need of a sin city (edit : oh my god sin city? that would make a perfect GTA-style pr0n game redface.gif) game.....I went as far as to look at gameplay and review videos of city XL, typhoon games and even games like anno and tropico, and none of them seem to satisfy my needs....

so I'm pretty dam sure I'll be buying, yeah I know.....I feel sorry for myself frown.gif

my desire for a game that could play itself after a while (so that I could pseudo-multi-task, or simply let my mind go idle) is even greater the desire for a smoking hot girlfriend.

ok that was a lie, but you get the idea.

It will eventually carry over to more than simcity, so I'm faced with the fact that many of the franchises that I enjoyed will no longer be viable.

I am a sad panda.

Well, it's not really worth arguing over. To each their own I suppose. Steam has done no wrong by me, and Origin has done no real wrong (though stupid comments have been made on EAs behalf). Origin is simply not as an enjoyable experience as Steam has been, and so I don't like it. Out of curiosity, what issue caused you to dislike Steam? And recognizing it as a DRM doesn't count, as many people know this already and most people don't mind.
