ASUS P5-LD2 Delux compatible with core 2?

Hello,

3 months back I bought a ASUS P5-LD2 for my Pentium D 950. I bought this particular one so I could have SLI capability if needed. This motherboard goes up to a 1066 fsb. I wanted to know if its compatible with the core 2 duo and if anyone has tried it out with one yet. It is not listed on asus's cpu support site. They have however the P5-LD2 regular and the SE version, so I dont get why it wouldnt be, because its a much better board than the others.

Thanks,

If I cant get info from u guys, guess I'll have to go to the source (ASUS), god I hate calling companies.

I believe this is what you are looking for. Link

Under the drop down menu choose:
- CPU
- Intel Core Processor
- The CPU you are looking for

It will then list a bunch of mobo's. Find yours and refer to the chart to see if it is already compatible or may require a BIOS update.

To save you a bit of time, here are the 'P5LD2's that I found supporting the C2D's.

- P5LD2
- P5LD2 SE
- P5LD2-VM
- P5LD2-VM DH
- P5LD2-VM SE

Thanks, but I knew this already if u read my whole post. It doesnt however mention the P5LD2 Deluxe. That is what I am trying to find out, why exactly, when the deluxe is an SLI board that supports up to 1066 fsb.

I would contact ASUS, as only the newer revisions of the 945 chipset boards support Core 2 Duo's, the older ones (released before the C2D release) do not, even with a BIOS update. They should be able to advise you which version of the Deluxe is required for C2D operation and how to tell which version you have. Since it was purchased 3 months ago, it's possible you got an older one from the previous stock.
