Should DDR500 sticks work on ALL ddr400-capable motherboards??

hey i've got an asus a8v deluxe motherboard and a measly 512MB of RAM. i just got 2 gigs of G. SKILL HZ dual channel ram and when i tried to replace the 512 stick i got a blue screen errror. i think the reason was because i put both sticks in A1 A2 instead of A1 and B1 (blue slots). i tried B1 and B2 next then realized its suppose to be the blue slots. so i put the dual channel in correctly but when i go to enter windows it gives me an error upon startup and says

.. and then i go to open internet explorer and it doesnt open. it shows up for a second in task manager (iexplore.exe) then disappers. and then i open hijack_this and do a scan to see if i have a virus spyware malware or any of the sort and although i dont see any i see that there are two extra registry entries for internet explorer. one is for the main start page and the other i cant remember. so i delete all FOUR of those entries and IE works but if i restart the computer its back to being weird again with those registry entries... but during all of this NONE of my other apps work LOL. like nero, adobe photoshop, windows media player.. ill get an error with all of them about some sort of dll file or registry file or something.. anyway, when i put my 512 stick back in all the aplications work including itnernet explorer... but i still have that error at the begginnig of windows still.. was it tripping out with the 2 gigs because they are ddr50 sticks? the manual of the motherboard does not mention ddr500 but it does mention it can support ddr400. anyone know?

PS - i have a DFI Expert coming in the mail... it will work with the DFI for sure right?

Some have had issues with the HZ in Asus MBs. Some have gotten it to work by presetting the default timings before installing the HZ.

Will it work in a DFI Expert, with out a doubt, YES!

they should work if the mobo supports 1GB sticks... since it boots i would say it does...

but for trouble shooting only put one of the sticks of 1GB in and see what happens..
