Another 6950 or a 7970? 2560x1440

Well... to be honest I play mostly Skyrim and WoW lately. MoP is gonna ramp up graphics so in anticipation I'd like to be able to max it out. I'm on one of those Shimian monitors if it matters. Currently have a 2gb 6950 as well, Twin Frozr.... might decide to unlock to 6970 later but as of right now no plans for it. 650w PSU as well. tyty <3

If you can afford it a single GPU is always best.

You don't have to fiddle with CFX complications in some titles, stuttering, etc.

I'd generally agree, however CF 6950s (specially OCed) would be much more cost effective and the CFX complications are usually fixed with driver patches.
I have had very little problems with my CFX setup, although I have not played anything in 2560x1440.

If you're comfortable OCing you 6950s and have decent cooling, I'd recommend the CFX setup. Unless of course you can sell your 6950 for a decent amount and put that towards a 7970

I have never liked crossfire/sli. to much screwing around. Some games support it some dont, stuttering & what not. IMO and this is only my opinion since other will disagree a single card solution is always the best way to go.
