Best Monitor at any price?

Thread Starter
I'm going to be putting together a new build and I don't have a budget. I was looking at all of the 2560x1600 monitors and was wondering if it would be worth it to put 3 of those in surround. I was also considering the overclockable catleap monitors.

What about the 30" 1600p shimians in triple surround? Seems to have a smaller bezel and better build than the 27".

Or you could get 5 and put them in portrait mode. Since you have no budget and all.. biggrin.gif

The triple surround sounds like a good idea! Even though I don't have a budget the 5 sounds unnecessary lol

The 30" Shimian sucks (check PRAD's review) and ALL 30" displays have poor contrast/black levels and use very grainy matte coatings.

High end 27-30" NEC/Eizo's are a complete waste of $ for games and movies and are even more of a waste if one does not intend to calibrate them. They cost more because they feature hardware calibration, 3D LUT's and colour compensation.

The Samsung S27B970D is probably the best display $ can buy atm, but you really need a colorimeter to make use of it. Since $ is not a factor a colorimeter like the i1 display pro is a necessity

I'm not too knowledgeable about monitors but I'm willing to bet any of the high end IPS monitors would be the best monitor at any price range. 3 of those in eyefinity would be your best bet with no budget, but it might be a little difficult to get them to run games well. Personally, I'd do a high end 120hz monitor or IPS monitor at the top at any price.

If your gaming you may want to consider 120hz. Of course it depends on what your doing, IPS maybe better for your application.

Wow that's disappointing, the build quality on the cabinet looked a ton better.
