"Bricked" my Samsung Captivate

Thread Starter
Hey all, recently I was trying to revert (flash) my OS on my Captivate to renew the warranty for my faulty speaker... bricked it and I'm looking for a new phone.

I am able to order a cell phone from the US (I live in CANADA), 5 minutes from the Washington state border. soo... I;ve been looking at the Galaxy Nexus that the Google Play store has to offer. My only question is if I am able to put my SIM Card in and that the phone will be fully functional with my Canadian provider. (I am with ROGERS). The phone comes unlocked for $349.00

I will link you to the page but you must live in the United States to view it fully.

Don't suggest other phones please. I want this phone and am not willing to buy an unlocked S3 for 200 more.

You can use an unlocked phone anywhere in the world as long as it supports the GSM radios on your carrier. I am not familiar with Rogers since here we don't have them but as long as they're GSM and not CDMA, you should be fine. I think only Spint and Verizon are CDMA in north america but don't quote me.

I highly doubt you bricked the old phone. I have found android phones are very hard to brick unless you are trying.

But on that note, still a really good excuse to upgrade.
Yes rogers is GSM so you just need to get the GSM nexus.

I would also like to recommend the Revolution HD rom for the nexus. I installed it on my dads phone and it is butter smooth and rock solid.
