I'm not sure if the lifetime warranty is transferable, although i dunno how BFG can tell if you are / aren't the original owner of the card.

If you have any problems, just RMA it to BFG

I'm not sure how to go about RMA'ing directly to the manufacturer, so im having the retailer i bought my card at handle it for me.

Also, if you buy it from eBay and its DOA, you should get in touch with the seller, and hopefully they will be good about it and give you a refund.

Although Goby (i think it was goby) bought a PSone LCD screen off eBay and it arrived scratched. The short of it is; the seller was a dick, and wouldnt give him a refund, and ignored his emails.

So don't always count on being able to get a refund from the seller. Some people are cool, and some are... just dicks.

Erm... dude.

Just done some poking around.

Your current mobo and card are both AGP x8.

The 7900GT only comes as PCI-E.

The 7800GS is the only 7 Series AGP card AFAIK.

Unless this card is for a system other than the one in your system spec.

Also that CPU and 512mb of RAM would seriously bottleneck that card. It'd be a pointless upgrade.

Welcome to the club of 7900GT problems. I had my EVGA 7900GT CO Superclocked (550/1550)for about 6-7 months also.

I praised the card to all who would listen, until now. I used to play EQ2 for 5-6 hours daily and haven't been playing much lately. LoL.

Do a little searching and you will find an inherent PROBLEM with the 7900GT's that no one want's to fess up to. They CLAIM their problems are fixed, however are still RMA replacing w/ what I call "try and see" card. I RMA'd my card. After a 3 week wait I got one back that was actually factory UNDERCLOCKED. It worked for less than a day. On the second day it went back to artifacting, only now worse than the original card. Also caused my PC to lock and blink screens (Read about it, every 7900GT that goes has these SAME problem) Rebooting it makes it ok in normal 2d windows tho. And YES the problem WILL get worse over time so don't second guess it. Get your RMA going ASAP.

ANYHOW, they will try to convince you it's the PSU. It's ANYTHING but their card they will say. However, you do some googling and you will see... These cards are FLAWED! Hence the 7950's release, but they will never admit it.

I read forum posts where people have RMA'd there 7900 as many as 6 times! Also read where one poor guy bought 3 PSU's b/c they convinced him every time he bought one it wasn't good enough, tho it met specs. ROFL!!!

All I got to say aobut the 7900 is Good Luck Bro

The 7900 problem seems to be more a Nvidia problem than the manufact of the card as ALL manufacturers are experiancing this. My next card will be a Radeon for sure. They just sign sealed and delivered my loyalty to Radeon by these swap'n see's they keep doing.

This shout goes out to Nvidia - keep playing your games with me and not giving me a working card. I won't be playing my games with you anymore! I'll take my ball and go home! (Figure of speech)

My opinion; if you have a 7900GT and a problem... you should get uped to the 7950GT no questions asked instead of playing the swap game for months on end.

That's just my 2---

Still waiting on a reply from the retailer.

Hey, it is the weekend.

If they agree to a refund i'll be over the moon.

I have been considering an ATi card... I don't know how easy ATi Driver are to work with though, so that kinda scares me.

X1900XT 512 > 7950GT 512?

Those cards are both damn close pricewise.

So what you guys think?

Oh and something else: Can ATi cards be forced to use x8 AA through their drivers like nVidia cards?

I saw a screenie of the catalyst control panel and it only showed x6. I need/want x8 for playing EVE Online. It looks sweet with x8

EDIT: Would it be worth putting a bit more money into it for a X1950XT 512? GDDR4 FTW? I might even be willing to push the boat out for a X1950XTX.

But this is all hoping that i can get a refund instead of replacement of the 7900GT.

EDIT2: Just remembered... My cpu is a bottleneck.

I think i'd be better off with the 7950 as its the cheapest option. That way i can save more money towards new mobo, cpu and some good DDR2 ram for a C2D rig

Yeah the X1900XT 512mb would be better then the 7950GT. But if you got the money, sure, go with a X1950XTX!

i think i'd have to go wit the 7950 or 1900xt.

An 1950xtx woudl be wasted on my current system.

and once i have cash to upgrade gpu at a later date, DX10 should be fairly mature, with a good choice of cards.

TBH, i think the 8800GTX will be a total peice of crap. Or atleast it will be compared to the 8900GTX, lol.

I think it'll go just like the 7 series did. Just hope they don't end up making an 8950GX2. That'd be silly.

im totally OT now, but... I wonder if there'll ever be a 10000GTX
