How bad IS the 2gb cap?

Thread Starter
I have to consider buying a new smartphone which may require a new plan. I currently have unlimited on Verizon but they won't let me keep it, as such I am wondering just how bad is the 2gb cap for most users? I'm pretty depressed about it. To some degree it's making me want to drop smartphones in general. How often do you all hit 2gb just off the smartphone itself? (Not considering tethering)

I love the ability to tether, but I already know that will go bye bye with my unlimited gone... -.-

If youre just browsing the web, facebook, and SOME videos, you should be fine. If you really really want unlimited, go to Spring or AT&T. Make Verizon pay. Theyre doing the same BS crap to my brother. They are basically going against the CONTRACT and nothing can be done....

I have a 5GB cap (USCC) and had data meters to watch my data, but even during heavy use weeks i never saw more than 200megs a week, so i kinda just gave up and uninstalled the watcher.

I think it just depends on how much you are going to use it, or if you will have 4g or not (much easier to hit that cap).

Just doing normal browsing, a little Pandora, daily games and the occasional YouTube video during my lunch at work, I can easily hit 4Gb in a month, and that's with WiFi wherever I can find it.

So it sucks. But if you don't use that much, you may be fine.

I hightly Recommend Sprint. My bill is almost he same every month and I get virtually unlimited everything since I don't call Land lines or business line a lot. $80+tax.

No throttle
No cap
No limit

Truly unlimited data.

I got Sprint just because I wanted the unlimited data, rooted and use it as a tether...if you have an area with 4G tethering is a lot more worth it, I usually use my wifi because it's easier on the battery. I have gone over 4GB before but it was only once and I had been tethering a lot. Average user shouldn't have a problem with 2GB/month. My bill for the all-of-the-things plan plus full insurance is like $98 a month. Only thing I'd be wary of is the service can be meh in places, but free roaming doesn't matter

You need to look at your personal history on your bill. Or call them and ask for the numbers from the last year.

You may very well never go above 500mb's. But asking others what they use won't help much.
