1. HP dv 6
A6 @ 1.7 ghz with turbo boost up to 2.5 ghz
4 GB DDR3
hd 6620g + HD 7670m in crossfire (the other notebook has hd 7690m but no crossfire)
2. Toshiba satellite
i7 2670QM @ 2.2 ghz
8 GB DDR3
gt 525m 2GB
Both have 13xx x xxx resolution and i guess that's fine. I would like to get at least 30 FPS with low/med settings on games like metro 2033, crysis 2 but my main problem is that i don't know whether the toshiba one would get my better FPS or the HP one....also who wouldn't like to play on high settings but these are the only laptops i can afford from the store i have the voucher of.

Get the notebook with HD 7690M. HD 7690M is the same chip with GDDR5 while HD 7670M is with GDDR3. Crossfire is not guaranteed to work conssistently. A fast single GPU is better than a dual GPU config which performs only slightly better.

Does the laptop which has HD 7690M come with the AMD A6 at 1.7 Ghz CPU. Is it the AMD A6-3430MX.

If it is go for the laptop with AMD HD 7690M.

Go for it. fantastic config. AMD quad core at 1.9 Ghz is more than enough for playing the games. Your perf is definitely going to be GPU limited more than CPU limited. HD 7690M is much faster than GT 525M. as told before they are in different class of GPUs. In notebooks HD 7690M is mid range whereas GT 525M is entry level.
