What is the realworld 'average' 3930k OC Vcore

Hello.

Simple question really.

3930k processor.

What is the average 'real world' Vcore for a 4.5 and/or 4.6ghz OC ?

I do NOT mean what you type in the bios, i mean what it actualy pulls when looking at it via AIDA64 or Real Temp etc when its under Prime95 load.

Becouse im on my second(2nd) 3930k cpu and i cant for the life of me get it to OC at voltages anywhere near what im reading online (mainly 1.35v or below)

Cheers.

I've had two 3930Ks and they both can only run 4.4GHz at 1.35v. Not the best OCer compared to what I've read about and seen here on OCN.

Im running a 3930k on a P9X79 Pro motherboard , iv had the motherboard replaced once and the cpu replaced once, and my voltages are still higher than what you lot are saying.

My current 4.6ghz OC (not tested load stability yet) is running at a ofset of +0.005v and runs up to 1.372v according to AIDA64 the average voltage is 1.368v. This has all the C states and power saving on though so it can downclock to 1.2ghz and 0.872v.

I did try it on -0.005v but that bsod during webbrowsing <8% usage.

i've also tried a static voltage of 1.35v at 4.5ghz and it bsod on Prime95 in under 5minutes.

As i said this is my second cpu and motherboard and im still having OC issues, it must be my settings ..or im the most unlucky guy in the world and have gone through 2 bad cpu's -.-

Your experience sounds similar to mine. Could the P9X79 series board be part of the problem? One issue I seem I have is that as soon a I increase my multi (nothing on Auto), my vcore jumps to 1.36v and up to 1.39v - 1.40v on load. I have to set a - 0.055v offset just to keep my load vcore at 1.35v. I do have LLC set to strong. I have a feeling it is the board because both chips have given me the same results.

I see.

But are your OC's stable at that ofset.?

What speed is it running.?

I cant seem to do anything to get it to run at 4.5ghz in and around 1.35v, my other 3930k cpu wouldnt even run 4.4ghz stable till i hit 1.38v

I have a semi stable 4.5GHz OC at 1.378V measured with a multimeter (cpu-z says 1.351) and my temps on the hottest cores will top out at about 74C when folding for the 17hours a day that I am awake (can't sleep with H100 fans on).

I'm in the same boat. I have a Rampage IV Formula and my 3930k tops out at 4.4. I have to set the vcore to 1.37 with a llc to high so the vcore floats between 1.35 to 1.37. Now I could do 4.6 at that voltage and pass IBT that Stresses AVX on the cpu But using a newer version of prime 95 that uses AVX It would fail so Had to go to 4.4 Before it would pass.
