It would just be nice to be able to walk into a store and buy everything I need so I didnt have to wait or anything

If you use the GTX 260 and 2.5" HD you already have..

Not sure where you live, but this is the MC closest to me for comparison..

I think he'll be wanting a dvd drive. tongue.gif
Also I'm guessing they sell it in the US, there is a 430w corsair PSU which would be perfectly fine for his needs. Would give him some breathing room budget wise, if he decides to add another stick of ram or something. smile.gif

@ep45-ds3l

How do you know which items they actually carry in the store? Or is it safe to assume that they all are?
Are there any downsides to this build? And how come that mobo is so cheap?

Also, I live in Minnesota!

Edit: Oh, I see how to look at local parts now!

Alright, here is the Intel build that I came up with. Let me know what you think.

Intel Core i3 2100 LGA 1155 3.1GHz Boxed Processor - $89.99

GA-H61M-DS2 LGA 1155 H61 mATX Intel Motherboard - $54.99

Diablotek EVO Mid Tower ATX Computer Case - $39.99

Builder Series CMPSU-430CXV2 430 Watt ATX Power Supply - $44.99

22X DVD±RW Burner with Dual Layer Support - OEM - $15.99

I am still over budget, that kinda sucks, I will look further into it, but let me know

I think I'm going to go with that same build except with a AMD FX 6100 Black Edition 3.3GHz Six-Core, and GA-H61M-DS2 LGA 1155 H61 mATX Intel Motherboard. I will probably overclock it as soon as I get it anyway, and this way I stay in budget

^The montherboard he posted is cheap because it's a bundle with the CPU, that's what's so great about MC, they give you CPUs for discounts compared to other stores AND they give you a cheap and sometimes even free motherboard.

There's bundles for the i3 too http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/3259b0e8#/3259b0e8/27

And what do you need a CD drive for? Just use a USB or borrow one from another computer to install windows.

In that case look at the next page on the ad I linked for the AMD motherboard bundles

Good point, I dropped the drive. The amd cpu and mobo I posted actually look pretty nice for what Im looking for. Do you have any reasons or hesitations against me getting it? I also do music editing/processing. I am going to overclock it too, I have an extra 20 bucks with my build now. Is there an aftermarket cooler for that price you suggest for the fx6100?
