need a solid gaming rig for $250 US or less - Page 3

Oh man. That case is ugly. Here are 3 options. I have not used these 3 myself, but they are all known names. And one is well recomended case:
NZXT Classic Series Source 210
BitFenix Merc Alpha Mid Tower Older one from good company. I love their new Prodigy ITX and Shinobi XL
Fractal Design Core 1000 Mini Tower mATX Smaller

The Antec Three Hundred Two ATX and Corsair Carbide Series 300R Mid-Tower are a bit more, but worth looking at if you find $10 in the sofa or something. Take some empties back.

The rest looks OK.

You got memory? Here

Cooler? Try this: Hyper 212 It is just the same as this one for $37 so it is a steal at that price. (make sure it fits your CPU and MoBo).

Good luck.

Actually that is the memory that I picked out, I must have forgot to link it!
It turns out that I forgot to add it to the cart, so now I'm 20 dollars over budget. I think that will be fine though. I'm going to take some time looking at those cases though!

I also do music editing/processing. I am going to overclock it too, I have an extra 20 bucks with my build now. Is there an aftermarket cooler for that price you suggest for the fx6100?
I didn't even pay attention the first time I read it but you posted an Intel 1155 motherboard for an AMD FX6100...

Alright, here is the final build that I have come up with:

FX 6100 Black Edition 3.3GHz Six-Core Socket AM3+ Boxed Processor - $119.99

GA-78LMT-S2P Socket AM3+ 760G mATX AMD Motherboard - $10.00 (free after rebate)

EVGA 896-P3-1265-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 - Owned

Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB - Owned

Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules) - $42.99

Elite Mid Tower ATX Computer Case with 450 Watt Power Supply - $36.99

Hyper 212 EVO Universal CPU Cooler - $36.99

The total comes out to $259.54 after tax and $249.54 after rebate, just under my limit.
I decided to go with the case that comes with the psu, it was the only way to really stay under the budget.
Will that 450 watts be enough to overclock my cpu to 4.0ghz?
