Looking for First Mechanical Keyboard

Thread Starter
I would like a new keyboard. I've been using a rubber dome keyboard that lasted for years, but the buttons are starting to get stuck a lot. I would like to try something new. I haven't looked much into keyboards, so I need help.

My budget is $100. I've read up on mechanical keyboards and there are four different types (cherry mx black, red, brown, blue). Which of these should I get? I mostly play fps games and the most typing I ever do is when I have to do a research paper for school.

I've looked into several mechanical keyboards already, but still haven't found one I liked that's in my budget.

But I have my eyes set on this keyboard.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129006&Tpk=CMstorm%20Quickfire%20Rapid%20Cherry%20MX%20Red%20Keyboard

I like the size of this keyboard even though it doesn't have a number pad. The only thing I don't like about this keyboard is that it has too much cooler master pics on the keyboard.

I also looked into the corsair k60 and was close to buying it, but I didn't like the metal finish.

I'm not in a real big hurry in buying a new keyboard. I can wait if something big is going to come out in the next several months.

If anyone can recommend me some mechanical keyboards for me that would be great.

*btw I had bad experience with Razer, so I don't want a Razer.

The CM:storm is not a bad choice. You do have other choices for $100 budget like Ducky, Leo,KeyCool, PLU, HPE and even a Filco(+$30ish).

I played BF3, CS, and D3 using a few different switch types(Red,Black,Blue,Brown,Clear,Topre) and its all about personal preference. Some say Blacks and Reds are great for FPS, but I like to game on blues or my topre(55gr).

You can find Qtans Estore here for KeyCool, PLU, HPE
