Hey guys I'm having some terribly obnoxious problems with Chrome and I am wondering if anybody knows of any fixes or workarounds... I am running whatever the current stable release is. I experience these issues on my main laptop, running Ivy Bridge with Nvidia Optimus, Win7 x64 8GB of RAM and an SSD. All current windows updates and drivers are installed.
First of all, definitely the most annoying problem is that if I have Chrome open, and then I stop using my laptop for a while, when I come back to it, the responsiveness of the browser (in terms of graphics, scrolling, etc) takes a MASSIVE nosedive. I mean it feels like I'm trying to run Chrome on my TI-84 calculator. At first I thought this only happened if I allowed the laptop to go to sleep, but I think just letting it idle for any period of time does it as well. Only fix is closing and reopening, which is annoying.
Anybody experience this or know a fix? It's got to honestly be the single most annoying aspect of using my computer. Searching online hasn't revealed much, aside that it might be something to do with the Intel graphics
Secondly, when I first boot my computer, the first time I open Chrome, it won't load ANY webpage. It will just be a blank white page that indicates it is constantly loading when I try to go to any site. When I close it and reopen, the home pages loads instantly. This happens no matter how long I let my computer sit after turning it on, it always will occur on first load. Anybody have this issue?
I know the obvious suggestion is to ditch Chrome, and boy, I really would like to if it's the only way, but I have an Android phone and tablet, and I make heavy use of my Google account, and I absolutely love how on other computers it will automatically sync with all my bookmarks and configurations, and just overall integrates so perfectly with how I use technology
