If you want benchmarks check out phoronix, there are a ton. The thing about amd drivers being poo on Linux was back 4 years ago. When AMD took over ATI, everything changed and they totally revamped the Linux support and even hired a seperate special developemtn team to solely code the Linux drivers for Linux. The past 2 years Nvidia's drivers have been getting buggier and buggier, and are neglecting to fix many big flaws that are just glaring in the face. My nvidia card in my laptop for example has a blue hue on adobe flash plugins, such as youtube caused by nvidia drivers that nvidia recognizes but hasn't fixed for the past year. And the fact that they leave out a lot of features on the Linux drivers vs the Windows ones, too.

But what are the other features...I mean my cards old as crap but I'm starting to think of looking for a new one as I need more than just x264 VDPAU support.
