so these results are disappointing.. i dunno why these scores are so low.. i mean the gold cup holder for this card did at with much lower gpu clocks and only 5500mhz on sandy bridge... and his score is like 20K above mine. i dunno

its funny... this score is 500 pts less and my gpu core is 50mhz faster and my cpu core is 25mhz faster (105.5 bclk vs 105.0 bclk)... still a lower score

overall im pleased with how the card behaved, but far from pleased with my 3dm01 scores..

someone mentioned that i need to be running XP for best results on 3dm01. ill bench the card again later today and use a fresh install of microXP..
which drivers should i be using?
i read in another thread about the run order for the tests, but now i cant find it. whats the currently held belief as to the "best" run order? and do you just run one at a time and then after the last one is run it will give you a score for all of them?

You have to, have to, run Win XP for 01. That will give you a big score jump right there. The tests also have to be run out of order, someone else would know better and as I remember some like running Nature first and some last but I think its:

Car High, Lobby High, Dragon High, Dragon Low, Lobby Low, Car Low (run this until you get a good job in score) and then Nature. Been so long since I've run it that I could be wrong on that. Also you should be using LOD biases that can be found in Riva Tuner

XP is a must for 3D01 and use 169.21 drivers
I usually run nature first then the High test followed by the low tests and Car low at the end several times until you get a high one
Reboot before re-running as the second times are always lower

yeah thats something i really need to read up on.. I have seen that term "LOD" thrown around for many months now but i dont even know what it is. I know some people say LOD on older nvidia cards helps scores like tesselation does on the AMD 7900 cards. I'll see if i can find a good reas on LOD and figure out what it is/does and how i can tweak it. I dont know anything about rivatuner except its the base for programs like msi afterburner and evga precision.. and that its a program with a ton of options in it that dont make much sense to me lol. A lot of it seems like its meant for graphics card engineers or something lol
however if you know of a thread or link that would help me learn these things id be more than happy to follow your suggestion

One thing that will save you a lot of headaches and wasted afternoons is to study each benchmark to the fullest. Search the web for different methods and tweaks used as they are scattered everywhere.

No matter what cooling method used, you will leave a lot of points on the table without research.

This was a mistake that I made for my first year of benching! I sold a lot of good hardware that I know now, could have been so much better!
