First time cooler leak testing loop

Thread Starter
I finally got my loop completed and got it up and running without too many hitches. It's been running for 12 hours now with no leaks but I had some questions. Unless there is something with my loop that I cannot detect (I had little to no trouble filling this thing) I'm pretty sure things are just fine.

My single loop runs off of two D5 laings (vario) in series mounted onto a Koolance double bay res. the RP 452x or whatever it's called. I have two 360 xspc rads and blocks on cpu, single gpu, motherboard.

I used a surprisingly small amount of water--about 1/2 gallon of distilled. Is that normal? For some reason I thought I'd use more.

The pumps are dead silent when running--very surprised at that. All I can hear is the fan on my enermax psu spinning. I assume it is because things seem to be running smoothly. Last night I occasionally heard a kind of trickle/whooshing sound through the res (i think). Is that the air being purged, just normal, expected to fade away after time or what?

The lines feel warm but I am assuming that is just the pumps heating the water since I have no fans running atm.

I think I've gotten all of the air out. Is there any sure way to tell or what should I look for? I don't see any bubbles either in the tubing or coming up through the res. I've tipped it all over (for quite a while) so I think I'm good.

Just wanting to make sure things are rock solid for when I power her up tonight. :-)

Yeah, my loop uses even less. Majority of the water is in the reservoir.

Air bubbles in the loop make the pumps noisy. They're silent when the loop fully bleeds

Check the each of the fittings for moisture (with toilet paper or something), both the o-ring and the tubing ends.
Other than that, you should be good to go tongue.gif.

Yeah the insides are paper toweled and have been bone dry. I was pretty sure I'm good but wanted some reassurance. I'll see what happens when I start her up tonight!

If anything tip your case different ways and see if you get any more air pockets out of your rads.
