Thermal sheet as good as cpu paste....
Question is what did they use as cpu paste? For all we know they could have used peanutbutter.

After seeing how good of a job Sony did applying CPU paste on my PS3. I think I'll pass.

Peanutbutter would be an awesome TIM, if not for being so short-lived. So if this thermal sheet can beat peanutbutter, color me impressed.

In mass produce devices, it is better to overcompensate than under...

Probably a good idea due to poor quality control and build tolerances with heatsinks these days. Allows for a margin of error from manfacturer's outsourcing material production to China for heatsinks. Ensures a greater chance that less units will perform above normal operating temperatures with a nice thick thermal tampon.

I find it good for being assured of a product that won't overheat from poor thermal pasting...

I'm happy about it! I just had to order a thermal padfor my laptop because my dell heatsink is not even close to being flat. Instead I have to sand it by hand and wait for a pad(tampon)...thumb.gif

what does thermal sheet even look like? Does it ever degrade and need to be redone?

hehe, when I first saw it I though it was you tongue.gif

if it actually does yield temps compared to decent thermal pastes and lasts longer, it will do good on the market - as long as they dont price gouge our eyes out.

probably easier to apply (not that paste is hard, but this would be fairly idiot proof)
