So in a way if you want to keep playing the game you have to buy them or be annoyed waiting forever for servers that play the default maps only.
Exactly...
In some games, releasing too much MP DLC like maps, extra guns, etc, can heavily fragment the game's on-line community...

You're talking about BF3, aren't you.

I'm talking about MP games filled DLC in general.I don't own BF3 at all,so I usually refrain myself from commenting on it...
But yes,it is a possiblity BF3 will start suffering from the same problem after all of Premium's DLCs are released. It's a lot of DLC,that may cause an eventual noticeable community fragmentation...

Do I agree?

Yeah. I know most everything about the Dawnguard DLC though I can't buy it for my PC version of Skyrim. I'll be so used to waiting for it that when it comes out I will have no problem waiting for the sale as well.

CD Projekt Red not charging for The Witcher 1 DLC was a shining moment, Iwinski said.
"Sadly, I see the industry trending toward over-exploiting the gamer," he said. "And I think this will come back to the publishers that are doing that, and eventually, people will stop buying their stuff."

Thoughts?
Do you agree,or disagree with CDP's statement?

It's getting outrageous these days. Don't mean to sound like an old person screaming "get off my lawn!" but back in the old days, which were not really that long ago, a lot of these paid for DLC's were free. When patches arrived, many added in new items. Expansions packs didn't cost $40 - $50, they cost around $20. New game releases were around $30 - $40, far cheaper than their console brethren that went for $60. Mod tools, map editors, or the ability to customize your own game using maps like map editors for Warcraft and Starcraft series allowed you to make your own custom stuff, for free and share it with friends.
Those days were nice, and game development studios made their millions and billions during those times. Now they are simply milking the market away and when they do spend money, its not on game development, its on a meaningless marketing campaign that cost them $50 million just to slap a MW3 poster up near your local movie theatre.
It boggles my mind when I see people stand there and fight tooth and nail for game studios to milk us to death and fight for the right to pay for what use to be free.

Well said..

It's CD Projekt Red. I agree with everything they say, and buy every game they release at the full price tag. I will keep supporting this company because they are a prime example of what a company SHOULD be.

Last EA game I bought was Mass Effect 1.
