To end the termination agreement:
$325 minus $10 for each full month of your Service Commitment that you complete
You can ask ATT to unlock upon leaving. Say you are moving to another country.
He is on Verizon so its actually

Early Termination Fee will be $350 minus $10 for each full month of your contract term that you complete.

Similar but slightly more also ask verizon to unlock not att.

I would be leaving Verizon though. So its only $325 (minus a few) to unlock it?

No problem, may be best to wait a few months. Just to let you know what you can do is as of RIGHT NOW you can get it internationally unlocked which will allow you to use sims from other countries, then when you travel you can get a prepaid sim for the country you are in and save money that way.

There's a very easy and free method of unlocking if you jailbreak your phone and won't have to worry about paying an early termination fee

[EDIT] oops, didn't realize this no longer works. It might still work for older firmware, but then you're SOL if you want to upgrade or have to and it won't work for iOS6

Sorry frown.gif

Negative, there has never been an iPhone 4s unlock EXCEPT the SAM trick which Apple patched within days since it was a server issue that allowed you to collect an unlock token. Well there is the gevey sim but those are super illegal in the us since you have to call emergency services to get signal.

There are methods to unlock but we can't discuss it here. Before you cancel call up verizon and ask how you get them to unlock. May have to call back 2-3 times to get a definitive answer. And then do the same for AT&T and see if they can unlock it for you to get you as a customer.

You don't have to call emergency services anymore to get a signal. They fixed that, I've been using one for over a year now.
