3930K + x79 Sabertooth + Vengeance Cannot Overclock - Page 3

Yeah but my issue is not stability or anything.

Just that when I am running even on PRIME 95 my multiplier is 32 * 100 it should be 48*100.

EVerywhere and all settings point to that as well.

Do you tink it may be a windows issue? Or some functionality that is making automatiing adjustments to prevent something?

I have tried disabling all C's but still no luck. I will try to set that setting to auto.

There's an option in RealTemp to disable Turbo Core. Untick that. I don't wanna call names to RealTemp's author but he's careless. This is the 3rd incident with this.

Simply, don't use RealTemp.

It already is unticked. I have checked using
1-> Intel Turbo Technology Monitor
2 -> Intel Identification Software
3 -> CPU-Z
4 -> AI Suite
post #24 of 29
Then you also not using it on Startup right ? What was your mobo again ? you should fill rig details.

Some boards have power efficiency modes that prevent cpu from throttling or keep it downclocked.

SORRY FOR DOUBLE POST BUT ITS WORTH IT!!!1

Okay I went into options, as per Catscratch suggested, options for REAL TEMP.

Now note I had REAL TEMP run on startup during all this time. So I went into settings, and everything was okay. Now I changed two settings. On the GPU Monitor I checked Nvidia (I did it thinking why not who cares) and second there is an option to show which CORE, and I checked the MAX.

Now after I clicked okay REAL TEMP Showed 3.9 GHZ with 103 * 38 multiplier and trust me I am like *** :O :O :O :O . And happy as hell.

Then I chekced from all other sources, the same thing. Then I removed realtemp from startup

I went into BIOS, set the optimun settings and guys

I am running 4.8 GHz at 1.41 VCore smile.gif.

Really happy. And Boost working and all. Also I turned on RealTemp, reset computer twice all is in order.

I have no idea why this happened, but I am sure as hell glad its owrkign now. Thank You So much Overclcoking coimmunity for bearing with me biggrin.gif

Just be careful with 4.8 on 1.41v on an H100, with only the stock fans, you'll likely run over 80C at full loads. You should look into running offset voltage on your vcore as opposed to a fixed voltage, and turning on speedstep so that it can downclock and downvolt your system when it isn't under heavy use. You'll get a lot more life out of your system that way. Also pay attention to the VRM temps, since you are on water they like overheating on the x79s and throttling your OC when you start pushing 4.7+ with 1.4v+

What do you mean stock fans? Should I ditch the fans that came with Corsair H100 and move to other fans? If yes then which ones?

Plus I wanna know I attached 2 fans to the radiator (Corsair H100)

Currently my fans are connected to EXHAUST the air. basically on top of the chassis are the fans, then radiator. DOesn't thsi mean that the HOT AIR is passing through the radiator?

SHould I not reverse this situation? Connect the fans so they take cool air from outside, and blow it through the radiator?

Will that in anyway increase performance?

And should I sandwich my Radiator with fans ? Like 2 above and 2 below is that of any use?
post #28 of 29
if you are only going to have fans on one side you generally want them in push mode on a radiator.

In other words you want them to be on the front side blowing air into and out of the radiator as opposed to sucking it through

The corsair stock fans have a ton of static pressure which is required to push air through the radiator. Keep that in mind if you want to replaced them with other fans.

OK, the fans are at the top of the radiator. Does the fans blow air to radiator or suck air from radiator? The fans should push the air through the radiator, not suck it. For cooling down VRMs, I like to use dedicated fan for this job.

This is push-pull setup. It should improved CPU temp for a couple degrees.
