If I were you I would get this monitor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001537.

it's about $80.00 more than the one you picked out. It's real 120hz. You will need your gpu to push more than 60fps for it to be useful. if you don't have the extra money now, wait a little while and save up. You will not regret it.

You will not be sorry. I just got it's bigger brother the s27a950d. The 120hz is great for gaming. if you are sitting in front of the monitor the viewing angles are not bad. I also don't think the colors are bad either. This is a great gaming monitor.

it almost fits your criteria. it's 23", led backlit, 1080p and 2ms. Also 1080p won't be so bad with a 23" panel. The pixel pitch will be better than a 27".

It's also 3d and comes with 3d glasses. it also has a pretty small bezel so you could eventually get 2 more and do surround. I was just thinking about getting 2 more of the ones I have.

Very nice work here man I appreciate it. I would have to think about spending more money, but that does come with a lot of extra stuff so I might.

This one seems similar, any thoughts?

I looked a bit more into 120hz monitors and I just can't get into that price range.

Trying to decide between these 4 now.

With 120hz you have to make sure to use a dual link dvi cable. Also make sure you go to display settings in control panel and change refresh rate to 120hz. I couldn't believe the difference in even the desktop, I didn't really think about that I only thought about games. it makes my mouse and the whole system just feel snappier. My work feels much more fluid. I also do want a high res IPS panel, but this Samsung is awesome and I would highly recommend one.

I would go with this one from that list Asus VS248H-P 24". I would recommend waiting and saving $80.00 or selling something old and getting that Samsung, you will love it so much more. I'm not really into 3d but if you are it also makes it a good choice and I think there is a hack for Nvidia 3d vision. But if you don't want to spend the extra $80.00 go with the one I listed above.

It also comes with the dual link dvi cable if you were worried about that. Also the 3d glasses add some value maybe you could sell them for $20.00. Also the bezel is pretty small so I would imagine that would make it a good candidate for surround/eyefinity.

I don't mean to push too hard but I just want you to think about it before you buy anything. A monitor is so important and to me I want to keep mine for awhile so I try to buy the best one I can which might end up saving money because you wont be looking for a new monitor so soon.

Strictly for gaming a 120hz screen is worth it. I ran the heaven benchmark for the first time last night in 120hz and it was so much clearer. When the camera panned the textures and shapes didn't blur and were really clear even while moving. I was pretty amazed by it last night.
