does it help the fact that my gpu is severely bent because of the massive dumb heatsink asus put on this **** gpu?

Nah that happens to every asus card lol. Those things are massive..I'm sure it didn't cause this to happen

I misspoke. I meant to say it could be grounding it. The board is only supposed to be grounded in the spots used to screw it into the case. However, if there is a screw or other metal object behind it, it could be grounding it on the case.

Hey buddy, so i read the quick things but let me ask you this just to be sure. We can narrow it down real quick.

1) You hit the power, what happens? What do you see?

2) After first post, what have you changed, if anything? What happened the first time you noticed it didnt work properly? (No screen, no power, no fans spinning, no beeping code, etc.)

3) When you boot, do you see any red lights around the MoBo? The asus P8 series has detectors when something isnt functioning properly, such as CPU, RAM, etc.

Remove everything except the cpu and 1 stick of ram. (remove HDD, remove gpu)
The i5 2500k has onboard gpu so it should post.

If it does not post, try a different stick of ram, keep adding one component at a time to see which one is giving problems.

*Make sure all cables are plugged in (4pin for the mobo)

doesn't help..especially since Asus videocard pcbs are so thin..If you updated to one of those new Ivy beta Bioses..eh..
that could be the problem.Doing so for me bricked my p8p67 pro.

1. I hit the power button and it turns on, fans go on, cpu fan and hdd all go on. Then the cpu led flashes, goes off. then the dram led comes on, then goes off. then the boot device led comes on and stays on. no post screen or bios screen.

2. No post. Then that boot device led comes on.

3. Red light on the boot device led on the motherboard itself. CPU and dram ones come on then they go off.
