Typing with wet hands

Thread Starter
I don't usually dry my hands perfectly after washing them, so sometimes my hands are a little wet when I type. I wouldn't mind if I'm using a rubber dome keyboard, but since I shelled out a lot of cash for mt Storm Trigger, I was asking if typing with wet hands can ruin my keyboard. I know it's a stupid question, but since the water doesn't wet the switches (or does it?) it won't matter, right? Typing with wet hands leaves small drops of water on my keycaps. I was wondering if the water can run down my keycaps into the switch itself, possibly ruining it.

Thanks OCN!

Probably.

Why don't you dry your hands better than that?  Are you really that short on time that you can't spend the extra 30 to 60 seconds?

I don't like to be rude, but I just have to ask.

It takes 2 seconds to dry up your hands, why take the risk? rolleyes.gif
You shouldn't have any troubles with some drops of water but you never know.

They could if they run down the side of the keycap and then drip down near the switch.  If it enough water gets there, it could eventually go into the switch.  If it doesn't do anything to the switch, then it could still fry the electronics inside.

I'm not speaking from experience, but I'm just trying to picture it.

If it fries the electronics inside, the board will stop working completely. Am I correct?

I would imagine you would have to be very unlucky to damage a switch and even if you did it would just be that switch. That said, just dry your hands, no risk is better than a very minimal one.
