Much appreciated. thumb.gif
Well i'm completely fresh to O.C'ing so would the 965 B.E be better than the 955 to O.C?
More so, easier?

That build was actually a budget build itself, if you look at the build in my sig "impulse amd build" you can see the parts I went with for it. The only thing that will be different is going to be a corsair power supply just because compusa didnt have what I wanted at the time.

BTW the sabretooth build is very nice. Great cable management! thumb.gif

Really, really nice!
Recent enough now, the Radeon 7770 outdoes the NVidia 550ti in the price range ($120-$130.)
But its obvious enough that you built that before the 7XXX was even released.

Yeah basically. Without the multiplier, all you can do is raise your FSB (front side bus). Not only does this limit your overclocks, but it's just not as much to play around with = not as much fun tongue.gif

I don't want to steal the props if not directed toward me, but if so, thanks. I really appreciate it.

My goodness, why must you keep bringing up parts I've previously owned. lol

I used to have a 550ti before my 6870. I really wasn't too pleased with it. It ran things alright but there's definitely better to be had in that price range.
Considering the lower end 6xx series GTXs won't be out for another couple of months, you might look towards AMD (if you aren't too partial to either one). A 7770 would beat a 550ti, but you might spend just a little bit more and go for a 6790.

Haha! biggrin.gif

I planned on playing with the abomination of raw power; the GTX 480.
In its $200 price range, it can't be beat in power (literally)

Well shoot, I didn't realize you wanted to step up to that level. By all means get a 480. And have fun with it at that thumb.gifwheee.gif

I want power for what I pay!

It'll be some budget power.
It won't be energy efficient and easy on an electric bill but at the price being payed its really no big deal.
After this rig is built all I need to worry about that is waiting for CS:G.O, FC3, Hitman: Absolution, and Borderlands 2.
Shouldn't have a problem maxing all of those thumb.gif
