I have Samsung xl2370 ,I heard that 120 hz monitors makes the game so much smoother ,I got two models on my mind which are Benq xl2420t and Samsung S23A700D ,samsung is cheaper what do u think ?

I got myself a 120hz monitor, Acer Gn245 and it is a great investment. You can game in 3dvision with those 3D monitors too.

Gaming in 120 hz is really smooth. It will not re write how you play games and it might not be as great as upgrading to a much powerful GPU, but i quiet enjoy 120hz gaming,.

Few games out there are locked to 60 fps, even 30 fps (Alice, Transformers) and you need to edit their ,ini files to make those games 120hz compatible. Please take note of that.

If you have the money, and if you have a good GPU (you need to have a good GPU to run newer and some older games in 120 fps), than by all means go get a 120hz monitor

BenQ and Asus are really good buys,,

Samsungs are also nice but I am not sure if s23a700d is 3Dvision compatible or not.

No it's not 3d vision ready. I think you can make it work with an emulator. I just got the 120hz Samsung s27a950d and I love it. My 2 680's usually always give me 120fps and I really do notice the difference. When the camera pans the objects stay very clear and completely visible and do not blur. it's great. It also makes the desktop experience more fluid and snappy.

Samsung s27a950d not supported by nvidia I just learned that mad.gif

"The current Samsung 3D monitors are not NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready certified and are not supported by NVIDIA 3D Vision or 3DTV Play software. NVIDIA recommends 3D Vision Ready, tuned and certified monitors from Asus, Acer, Alienware, Viewsonic, Planar and BenQ for the best 3D quality and game compatibility." - Andrew Fear, Senior Product Manager (Nvidia 3D Vision)"

ı want to experience both 120hz and 3d gaming but with my nvidia card I have to wait for BenQ XL2420TX which hasnt been arrive to Turkey yet.
Benq xl2470 aint got 3d glasses therefore I m in dilemma

The asus VG278H and the VG236H (HE if you want one without the glasses) are decent choices if you're looking for a 3D vision capable monitor and can't go with the XL2420T. Are those available?

The BenQ is probably the best one to go for. I have a Planar SA2311W and it is awesome and a great price if you can still find em. Seriously, upgrade, best thing you've ever done.

The BenQ is the best 24" if your soul interest is 3D & having a non-reflective display. In 2D it is slower than most other 120hz displays and the Asus & Samsung models have better default colours.

Slower? This is just plain wrong. BenQ touts themselves as having the lowest possible input lag. It also, with a little color correction, is VERY nice looking. I own the Planar, and my buddy owns the BenQ, and it is a very good looking monitor. The colors are great with a tiny bit of calibrating and it has the least amount of input lag of any 120 hz monitor. It is meant for 120hz gaming, and although capable of 3D, it is more meant for processional FPS gamers to game at 120hz.

BenQ Marketing department can claim whatever they want. The BenQ does have lower input lag than the 120hz Samsung's, but the overdrive is not properly implemented, so there is lots of light & dark over shoot (bright or dark halos forming around fast moving objects) with the AMA On & light streaking+smearing when it is off. The Samsung's are ghosting free & have better colours as do the Asus models (they aren't ghosting free but are faster than the BenQ) which have equally as low input lag as the BenQ.
